Welcome to MindSnap Notes. Your privacy and trust are our top priority. This Privacy Policy is designed to comply with Google Chrome Web Store Developer Policies and explains how we collect, use, and protect your data when you use the MindSnap Notes Chrome Extension.
1. Data Collection and Usage
MindSnap Notes acts as a web clipper and productivity assistant. We only process data necessary to provide you with the extension's core functionality:
- Website Content: What you select and clip. We read the text or images you explicitly select and capture via our context menus. This includes the URL and Title of the active tab, solely to link the context back to your captured note.
- Local Storage: Your configurations. We store your preferences, Notion tokens, Obsidian vault paths, and pending active drafts locally in your browser using Chrome’s secure
storage API.
- No Background Tracking: We do not silently collect data. We do not track your browsing history or record your network activity in the background. Content is only processed when you actively click to capture a specific text.
2. Third-Party Services Integration
MindSnap Notes communicates with third-party services securely:
- Artificial Intelligence Processing: If you trigger the AI summarization feature, your selected text snippet is securely sent to our backend infrastructure (via Cloudflare Workers fetching DeepSeek or other endpoints) or directly to the AI provider endpoint you configured. This is solely for processing the text and returning it to your device. We do not store transcripts of your captures on our proxy servers.
- Notion Integration: If you choose to export to Notion, data is transmitted directly from your local browser to the official
api.notion.com endpoint using the authentication token you provided.
3. Data Protection and Sale
We do not sell, rent, or trade your data.
- We do not sell or transfer user data to any third parties for profit.
- We do not use or transfer user data for purposes unrelated to the extension's core functionality.
- We do not use or transfer user data to determine creditworthiness.
4. Your Rights and Control
All configuration data and drafts are stored locally on your device. You have full control over this data. You can delete all your stored configurations, tokens, and drafts permanently at any time by navigating to the MindSnap Notes "Settings" > "General" tab and clicking the "Clear All Data" button, or by simply uninstalling the extension.
